Description : Dark Atmospheric, Progressive, Ambient, Classical, Electronic, Tribal. Brief History : We invite you to enter the unique world of Where Echoes End - to experience the disturbing sounds and themes incorporating musical influences ranging from Celtic and Classical to the heavier, progressive styles of music. It is here where sound and theme intersect the writings of authors such as Howard Bloom, Carlos Casteneda, Lyall Watson, Paul Davies, Darryl Reanney and Richard Leakey. The inspiration to compose comes from a fascination with the relationship between genetics, human behavior, culture, science, politics, mysticism and religion. "Where Echoes End" intertwine exquisite arrangements with exotic percussion, distressing sampling, mystic poetry and other sonic textures evoking melodic images of times and places unified by the integrity of their singular vision. A listening experience that includes subtle surprises at every turn. In the not-so-distant future, when minds begin to mingle, listeners will forget the primary and the near in favor of the secondary and the remote. As we grow used to digesting ideas, sound and images a door will close in our subconscious and another will open. The new born reality will become real and true while the old will fade like a tattered photograph, a memory of a former glory, an unrealized dream withering into the back ground radiation of your inner most thoughts. To look into another face, to hear a sound never perceived, to imagine, to think, this is the stuff of dreams. When we bang the door to our cell shut we limit our experience and when all is reversed we shall be like a feather in the wind. Paul and I hold the door to "Where Echoes End" ajar, and with an out stretched hand we offer the key to your own cell door as a gift to you. Once opened it will reveal a hybrid sonic world of longing, a separate reality linked to desire, fear and greed. Whether you enter or chose to remain in the real world is ultimately up to you. In the early years of their careers, Paul and Eddie were intimately involved with a progressive band named "VAUXDVIHL", who in 1994 released their debut CD titled "TO DIMENSION LOGIC". Incorporating music influences such as DREAM THEATER and Fates Warning, "to dimension logic" was well received worldwide. In the years that followed Paul and Eddie worked together in a number project which helped to shape their individualistic musical idiosyncrasies. Drawn to a style of music which was far from angelic or superficially comforting inspiration grew. From these experiences and by the release of their Demo Tape "NEXT WEEKS MIRACLE" in JUNE 97 it was clear they had developed their own auditory style. Containing dark breathing waves of sound, listeners embraced the feelings of foreboding and mystery. Over the next 5 months an intense ritual of writing continued to take place. In OCTOBER 97 "WHERE ECHOES END" began recording their debut CD entitled "BY THE PRICKING OF MY THUMB". Running in chapter form and containing as many as 19 songs "BY THE PRICKING OF MY THUMB" is a nightmarish vision of how greed creates prisoners of us. It illuminates the division of the actor from the act and the observer from the observed. "WHERE ECHOES END's" long-standing influences are not necessarily musical; rather they draw inspiration from past experiences and write texts, as mentioned above. "WHERE ECHOES END" will continue to produce music that blurs the boundaries between human behavior and modern technology with their expansive chordal ambience and growing infusion of atmospheric aesthetics.

WinterlandDescription : The band describes its style as "DARK ROCK", due to the fact that we don't think to fit in any category existing so far. Brief History : In early 1996, WINTERLAND was founded by singer Thorsten Fries and guitarist Markus Pfeffer in Ramstein/BRD as a studio-project. Fries had a band with today's SUPERIOR-guitarist Bernd Basmer, Pfeffer released 3 CD's with AOR-band SCARLETT and 2 demos. Winterland's first promotional tape „Under The Flood" received great reviews worldwide (e.g. Brazil, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Greece, Germany, Austria) and has had airplay in Germany, Luxembourg and France. In spring 1997, the studio-project became a „real" band and started playing live, the line-up was completed by guitarist Stephan Hugo, bass-player Holger Kuntz and drummer Chris Guckeisen who played together since 1993. WINTERLAND's music can be described as a mixture of various hard & heavy-styles (mostly Rock, Hardrock, AOR and some Power Metal) whereas the band's roots are based in the Eighties. The members grew up with acts such as TYKETTO, SAVATAGE and DOKKEN (and they don't deny their roots). The current album "Blind" is critically acclaimed worldwide: "...one of the finest rock bands to ever come out of Germany." (ATOMIC CHASERS / USA) "...fantastic voice, catchy melodies." (Detlef Dengler, HEAVY, ODER WAS !? / Germany) "...vocalist Fries sounds like Gary Hughes/TEN,... you will love this band." (STRUTTER / Netherlands) "...hardrock bound with classic metal,... remind me of SAVATAGE." (SEVENTH SIGN / Greece) "...can be compared to TEN or CITA." (THUNDER / Switzerland) "...estremamente professionale..." (METAL HAMMER / Italy) "...one of the most pleasent progressive metal surprises..." (DUTCH PROGRESSIVE ROCK PAGE) "...heavy, yet melodic, comlex and well played opus." (AOR LAND / Spain) "...interesting for ANY metal-fan!" (DISAGREEMENT / Luxembourg) "...Zak Stevens is a comparison to Fries' voice." (MOOD SWINGS / Ireland) "...unique and distinct vocals, prevalent guitars, excellent musicianship." (ROCKNWORLD / USA) "...great arrangements of the guitars gives me a feel of CRIMSON GLORY." (HARD ROXX / UK) "...qui è tutto cosi perfetto!" (ROCK IN ACCESS / Italy) At the moment, Winterland are working on new material, 9 new songs are already written and will give the band quite a new direction, less heavy, and more melodic.
