RainLord is:
John Nickoloff - Lead Vocals
John was born in Indianapolis, and had aspirations as a child to grow up and
become a professional baseball player. Shortstop. This dream began to fade
in high school when John discovered his vocal talent. That's when "I wanna
be a shortstop" got replaced with "I wanna be a rock star". Among his
influences, Paul Stanley and Jon Bon Jovi seem to stand out. He founded
Alliance in February 1993 under the premise that they would be a rock band
that borrowed from the classics, but still paved a way to the future.
Power guitar riffs, killer vocal harmonies, high energy stage performance.
Alliance later changed to RainLord in 1994. John is an energetic frontman,
a great P/R person for the band, and a consummate performer. He has a
charisma on stage that is reached only by a select few.
Matt Minick - Bass, Vocals
Matt is originally from Pittsburgh, but has stopped at many places along the
way before his current home in Daytona Beach. He is multi-talented, but his
current love is the bass guitar. He picked up his first guitar at age 6, and
has played guitar for several bands all over the country. He met John in
1993 and they began their quest to form the perfect band. He is a diversely
influenced musician, which becomes apparent in his song writing styles. His
enthusiasm is captivating and is very evident in his performance.
Ralph Abraham - Drums, Percussion, Vocals
Ralph was born in Washington, D.C. and was transplanted to Florida at the
age of 5. He has been a drummer since he was 8, and has played in various
bands throughout Flagler County, Florida. His reputation is widespread as a
solid time keeper as well as a prolific showman. He was best known as the
drummer for Flagler County mainstays, The Smalltown Boys. But when offered a
position in RainLord, Ralph could not say no. Ralph has been in the band
since April '96.
Reg Monsanto - Guitars, Vocals
Reg was raised in Queens, New York, and only 30 minutes from the music
capital of the world. Playing in rock, heavy metal, and top 40 bands since
the age of 17, he has lived the life of the struggling musician and is ready
to reap the benefits of all the dues he and his band mates have paid. The
opportunity to play with RainLord fell from the sky and right into his lap.
John and Matt had heard through the grapevine that Reg played guitar, and
they asked him to a jam session. The session went so well, that Alliance was
formed on the spot. RainLord was born a year later, and hopefully will lead
Reg to his Promised Land.
