Description : ONOFFON - progressive jazz rock - consists of Don Lake, guitars,
vocals, Von Babasin, bass, vocals, Dave Goode, drums, percussion.
Brief History :
The progressive jazz rock group ONOFFON is comprised of three well respected studio musicians from the Los Angeles area. They are the truest personification of what a "band" should be, balancing
the dual demands of technical excellence and the less tangible quality of an intrinsic feeling for the music they perform. Bassist Von Babasin and drummer Dave Goode have welded their talents into a powerful rhythmic foundation on which guitarist Don Lakers melodic structures rests.
DON LAKE - As well as being the guitarist and vocalist of the band, Don is also the principal composer. The diversity of his compositions is matched only by the variety of moods and emotions he conveys with
his guitars, harmonicas and voice.
DAVE GOODE - This in-your-face drummer/percussionist is the driving force of the band. His intricate phrasings and creative interpretations define the Passion and perception of the ONOFFON sound.
VON BABASIN - His combination of solid flowing walking lines and melodic syncopated grooves contribute to this second-generation bassists' distinct style. Doubling on keyboards and adding background
and occasional lead vocals adds to the depth of this divergent group.
To individually list all of the credits associated with this band would be tiresome and voluminous. Just suffice it to say that the bands' members have extensive backgrounds in an aspects of live performance; all types of studio recording; film and video direction and production; film soundtracks; as well as a seemingly endless
repertoire of original compositions and a true sense for meaningful interpretation.
