We invite you to enter the unique world of Where Echoes End - to experience the disturbing sounds and themes incorporating musical influences ranging from Celtic and Classical to the heavier, progressive styles of music. It is here where sound and theme intersect the writings of authors such as Howard Bloom, Carlos Casteneda, Lyall Watson, Paul Davies, Darryl Reanney and Richard Leakey. The inspiration to compose comes from a fascination with the relationship between genetics, human behavior, culture, science, politics, mysticism and religion. "Where Echoes End" intertwine exquisite arrangements with exotic percussion, distressing sampling, mystic poetry and other sonic textures evoking melodic images of times and places unified by the integrity of their singular vision.
A listening experience that includes subtle surprises at every turn.
In the not-so-distant future, when minds begin to mingle, listeners will forget the primary and the near in favor of the secondary and the remote. As we grow used to digesting ideas, sound and images a door will close in our subconscious and another will open. The new born reality will become real and true while the old will fade like a tattered photograph, a memory of a former glory, an unrealized dream withering into the back ground radiation of your inner most thoughts. To look into another face, to hear a sound never perceived, to imagine, to think, this is the stuff of dreams. When we bang the door to our cell shut we limit our experience and when all is reversed we shall be like a feather in the wind.
Paul and I hold the door to "Where Echoes End" ajar, and with an out stretched hand we offer the key to your own cell door as a gift to you. Once opened it will reveal a hybrid sonic world of longing, a separate reality linked to desire, fear and greed.
Whether you enter or chose to remain in the real world is ultimately up to you.
In the early years of their careers, Paul and Eddie were intimately involved with a progressive band named "VAUXDVIHL", who in 1994 released their debut CD titled "TO DIMENSION LOGIC". Incorporating music influences such as DREAM THEATER and Fates Warning, "to dimension logic" was well received worldwide. In the years that followed Paul and Eddie worked together in a number project which helped to shape their individualistic musical idiosyncrasies. Drawn to a style of music which was far from angelic or superficially comforting inspiration grew.
From these experiences and by the release of their Demo Tape "NEXT WEEKS MIRACLE" in JUNE 97 it was clear they had developed their own auditory style. Containing dark breathing waves of sound, listeners embraced the feelings of foreboding and mystery. Over the next 5 months an intense ritual of writing continued to take place.
In OCTOBER 97 "WHERE ECHOES END" began recording their debut CD entitled "BY THE PRICKING OF MY THUMB". Running in chapter form and containing as many as 19 songs "BY THE PRICKING OF MY THUMB" is a nightmarish vision of how greed creates prisoners of us. It illuminates the division of the actor from the act and the observer from the observed.
"WHERE ECHOES END's" long-standing influences are not necessarily musical; rather they draw inspiration from past experiences and write texts, as mentioned above. "WHERE ECHOES END" will continue to produce music that blurs the boundaries between human behavior and modern technology with their expansive chordal ambience and growing infusion of atmospheric aesthetics.
