They spent the next few years gigging locally and throughout the north eastern United States. In November 1993 the band released their debut CD "Makin Time" which was produced by legendary producer Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, led Zeppelin, Kiss etc.) It was released only in Japan and received much praise fron Japan's biggest critic's. "Makin Time" reached #5 on BURRN! magazine charts and was rated #25 overall for the year. The first single "Taste Of Sin" also reached #19 on BURRN! magazines singles chart. Guitarist Ted Burger was voted #8 in the MVP readers poll of best guitar players in Japan. In May 1995 Without Warning released their follow up CD entitled "Believe" produced by Alex Perialas (Anthrax, Testament, Metallica etc). Once again the bands efforts received critical praise and the CD enjoyed rgular airplay on Japanese radio. After a promotional tour of Japan, including a national television appearance by guitarist Ted Burger and singer Jack Bielata and extensive gigging in the United States, the band decided to relocate to the New York City area. "Step Beyond" is the bands third release and is an album full of excellent tracks. Without Warning seem to have found a style that suits them perfectly. They seem to be able to write catchy songs with ease as they produce one after the other on this album. Without Warning's style combines superb keyboards and outstanding guitars, with a powerful rhythm unit and vocals you would die for. It was quite difficult choosing a few favourites but the title track 'Step Beyond', what an opener, this has such a catchy melody, you just instantly get hooked. 'More', 'Gracefully' and 'Embrace' too will have you wanting more, but they're all good and this album to me is a must. The first track 'Step Beyond' has a very strong melody and has a catchy tune, the vocals are great and there are some nice changes in direction, mood and tempo. midtarck there's some great keyboards followed by some superb guitar. The next track 'More' is another excellent track with great vocals that are powerful and emotional. Great guitar and keyboards. Another track that is catchy and has a very strong melody. The third track is 'Prophet', another strong track, great drivin' rhythm, excellebt bass and drums. Again great vocals, nice keyboards and a superb guitar solo. The next track 'Gracefully' is quite a long track at just under 8 mins. The track starts with some excellent interaction between guitar and keyboards, when the vocals come in, the rhythm then slows down. The vocals on this track are powerful, but show a high degree of emotion. Midtrack ther's some great keyboards and guitar. 'Who Am I', is a slightly heavier track than the previous tracks and has some nice guitar and keyboard work. The sixth track is 'Turning Pages', and starts with some strong keyboards, drums and guitar. after a while the track slows down to some excellent guitar. This is anothe rtrack with a strong melody and catchy chorus. Nice vocals, acoustic guitar and keyboards. The next track is 'To The End' and starts with a short spacey type intro before the guitar, bass and drums come in over the top. Midtrack there's some excellent guitar and keyboard solo's. After the solo's the track then calms down to some nice acoustic guitar before building up to when the vocals restart. 'The Embrace', is the longest track on the album at just over 9 mins. The track starts with some spacey type keyboards and guitar and some great bass. Over the top a short narrated piece is spoken. this is followed by some nice guitar and keyboards. Once again great vocals, powerful and emotional. There are many changes in direction, mood and tempo, superb guitar work througout, strong drum sound and some excellent bass. The final track is 'Remember Me', this is a emotional love song with some nice acoustic guitar and mellow keyboards. Nice vocals.
