"Reflections Of The I"

Winds

Darkness, light and assorted gaseous matter fill your vision as light winds of operatic opulence whisk you away to another time and place where orchestrated brilliance of the past collides with an interstellar future on this contemplative journey from the among the latest Norwegian entries to the Symphonic/Metal scene.

"Reflections…" marks the first full length for a band whose members have previously logged some impressive musical notoriety in and out of their native land.

With only their previously released five song EP, "Of Entity And Mind," also featured here at the close, to build from, "Reflections" is an accomplished piece of work that blends riveting guitar riffs with steady percussion and a seamless string section contributed by members of Oslo's Philharmonic Orchestra.

Interspersed with glowing instrumentals of a usually short time frame, the music follows an occasionally progressive pathway during its dark journey and possesses a commonality with the likes of Swedish elite Therion, Anathema or label mates Virgin Black.

"Reflections" is a grand scale boundary breaking combination where smooth vocals overlay demonstrative instrumental passages and intricate harmonies weave within the airy, occasionally blustery rhythmic textures to make for a dignified if sometimes sleepy listening experience.
