Watching the World BurnVision |

Yeah, everyone tells me I'm close minded too… trust me, after years of turning a deaf ear to all these evolving liberal-minded musical types, I've learned to long since close my mind off… tune 'em the fuck out and watch the world burn! Ha-I love it! I can't believe these guys have been doing this for over a decade here. Not only have I been close minded… I guess I've been asleep for the past decade! But imagine waking up to someone pulling your hair, screaming in your ear and reminding you that yesterday's hard-core / punk visionaries didn't necessarily die the slow painful death that corporate America longed for but in fact live on in bands like Vision! Well I'm still a little shaken here at the thought but this new disc is one of the finest examples that true Punk music just never gets old and it sure as hell ain't going away! With a fiery dual guitar blast, twin tone melodies and back breaking beats to support a vindictive multiplicity of vocals wrought with rage and anger, "Watching the World Burn" is like a great big "fuck you" to the conglomerate of pretenders and sell outs that pollute the airwaves! We're talking explosive magnitude where "Beggars and Gentry," "Don't Sound the Alarm," and "No Compromise" are concerned… so what does that say for the rest of 'em? It's just a little too harsh to put into words! East Coast hard-core is alive and well for those who still possess the vision and it's painfully obvious it never left this timely and well directed band of malcontents. On this flaming new release, Vision have successfully lit the fuse-note stunning album cover image-and rather than search for answers and promote change for the predictable and unoriginal, their solution is simple… total and complete annihilation! Talk about a hard day… Released by Epitaph Records Review By Vinnie Apicella |
