"Touch and Go"

Vibrolush

Self-described as featuring a variety of sounds on their new release, Vibrolush-if you divide the word in half, about tells the story in equal parts.

Not quite the innovative thinkers however if we're still to expect bands being pigeon-holed nowadays-seemingly forever its been about how many different sounds can you throw into the mix and no one sticks within a fashion-flushing one dimensional direction anymore save for those gutsy stubborn to the end dinosaur rockers.

Immediacy is not evident in the early going as "Long Way Down" falls flat in a matter of seconds… next. Okay lead single "Touch and Go" has potential, this is what we're looking for-vibrancy, technique… a viably radio friendly rock track, smoothed over characteristically to later Replacements material and similarly catchy.

"Special" is a combination of the first two, somewhat dreary and uninspired but seems to catch fire leading into the next tune "Crush" which brandishes an extra burst of electricity, plugging into a real groove rocker that should be the next mover at rock radio.

What we're getting here is a steady dose of fluttery pop tunes banked within about 40% rock with a jagged edge and deft production quality that sees a scarce but effective use of high tech…

Nothing fancy and the song to song mixture is subtle in most cases but the evidence is here that they have the potential to steal a little of the thunder away from the Smashing Pumpkin types slowly withering away…
