Stand To Fall Veil hail from Germany, Well Hanover to be precise and this is their second major release. This album shows them going down the now tried and tested Metal Hardcore path. So what makes this better than anything else in that field. Well two things mainly, the first although there are 12 tracks on Words Vs. Nothing, the total running time is only 34 minutes but there is enough variety between the tracks. So the album doesn't sound like one long drawn out song, a mistake commonly made in this genre and secondly there are enough different styles music wise to make this more than just another Hardcore/Metal album. The spoken words of 'Intro', the excellent punk style harmony on 'Place To be' (without doubt the best track on the album), the excellent Drum/Guitar sound on 'Shell', 'Another Wall' and 'In Offence' makes this album stand out on it's own in a very clogged market place. Veil have been together since 1994 and have learned a lot in this relatively short time. I put this down to the extensive touring not only with runknown's like themselves, but with acts such as 108 and Biohazard. If comparisons have to be made then try a cross between Snapcase, Turmoil, Quicksand and Nuclear Assault. For lovers of this genre then Words Vs. Nothing comes highly recommended.
