Unbalanced for Mankind

Vehement

The first tune reminded me of early Slayer-very crude and underproduced.

In fact why don't we just go ahead and say that about the whole album!

But not so much with the Slayer comparisons… "Unbalanced for Mankind" actually does strike a pretty sound balance of traditional speed metal, thrash and death right from the word go.

If such a mix of "progressive death" were to exist, they'd be right at the forefront of its creation with tunes like "Immaculate Entrapment," "Allergicide," and the traditionally metal breakdown of "Inhale the Mist" all leading the way.

Arguing "vehemently" for taking heavy music into boundaries as yet unexplored, the power trio produces some of the most intense instrumental desecration ever put to tape, only managing to settle things down momentarily with the lush backdrop of "Creation" at the midpoint.

The sound they get is a typically second rate, consistent for first timers, and should endear them to those listeners who have little left to lose where auditory function is concerned.

"Intergalactic Landmarks" is another in the traditional metal leanings with its slow and twisting character, offset only by the double-beat intensity of the percussion-concussion?-not to mention a brief riffing tirade somewhere in the middle.

This is almost what I remember the earliest VoiVod to sound like-if anyone still remembers stuff like "War & Pain" and that beautifully brutal example of all out noise called "Roarrrrrr."

Hey I just learned a new word here-"Overtrolled." Finishing much like it begins, the last two cuts are probably the deepest, "Prepare for War," and "Procrehatred…" hey that's catchy! Probably not likely to be Tony Granato's favorite group anytime soon, the Downer's Grove, Illinois natives serve it up fast and loud in an uncontrolled environment that allows their musical inhibitions to run wild with little care for overproduction and maybe not enough concern for… overmodulation!
