Johnny - Bass 1. Don't Want To Be Born "Like it or not but we're back again, Hell's Unleashed" and unleashed it certainly is! When Unleashed released their first album 'Where No Life Dwells' way back in '91, no one dreamed they would go on to become one of the most consistent names in the underworld of death metal. They refuse to bow to trends and focus on the music, which comes naturally. With an interesting combination of crushing riffs, steamroller bass-lines and a drum that never seems to relent in it's pace or power. The mighty Swedish Death Engine has returned with a new album that meets all expectations and will keep their faithful army of warriors happy. We kick off with a mid-paced track called 'Don't Want To Be Born' with its catchy tune and rather annoying hook line, you'll be singing this little ditty all day!! The production on this disc is of the very highest order and it brings out the sound of the band perfectly. Johnny's vocals are consistent throughout as is his bass playing, complimented by two very able and competent guitarists, Fredrik and Tomas and finally bringing it all together the awesome power of the drummer Anders who seems to have a never ending energy supply. This disc has a very distinct Nordic feel to it which surfaces in tracks like 'Fly Raven Fly' & 'Burnt Alive'. Add to this the crushing and awesome fast title track 'Hell's Unleashed', 'Death Metal' and 'Peace, Piece By Piece' and you're surely onto a winner. Not forgetting the slower, groovier, catchy tunes such as the excellent 'Joy In The Sun' and 'We'll Come for You', this is definitely one to add to your collection - Join the madness or step aside!!
