"The Richmond Sluts" The Richmond Sluts |
|
If you didn't know better you'd swear you were living in a bygone era and then again maybe you are. They are, and so is almost every band from Sub Pop, Hellcat, and Honest Don's. So these Richmond Sluts tear a page right out of R&R's past with their Stooges'/Stones' hybrid of feel-good "Summertime Blues" hit-radio vibe, diggin' the scene and mountin' the babes, on their eleven track throwback to the original glam band days. Ain't no weekend safe from these guys. The four of 'em got their shades drawn, all pouty and pretentious and a piano and organ for good measure. Their color by numbers set sees 'em throwin' three chords and a chorus around so professionally it'd make The Ramones' jones and the Young brothers yield sugary sweet and oh so sinful.
