The Mustard Seeds are a band that may just already be familiar to some of you as they released their self titled debut album in Europe in January 1996, and off the back of that the band caught the attention of Mustang Jeans in Germany, who used the bands song "Quicksand" in their television and cinema campaign.

The Mustard Seeds have also had slots on the 3 main German Rock festivals including Rock AM Ring at which they performed alongside artists such as Sting, David Bowie, Bush and Alanis Morrisette and apart from the fact that this 4 piece come from California, there's very little else I can say (about the band), as I'm sure the majority of you reading this review, realise this band are virtually unknown this side of the water.

What I can tell you, however is that Red is quite simply a Bluesy mix of aggressive, infectious power pop, full of powerful four way vocal harmonies, chasing guitar riffs, expansive melodies and deep rooted grooves.

In fact if you can imagine The Beatles jamming with the Foo Fighters you'd be on the right track. All of the 12 tracks have a certain quality about them that simply demands you pay attention.

Personally, "Sylvia Beams", "Dying" and "Farewell To Andre" are my favourites, but to be honest they all deserve some attention.

So the next time your passing your local record store, then I would suggest that you pick up a copy of "Red". Superb!!!
