"Static Delusions and Stone-Still Days" The Catheters |
|
Well first of all they get my vote for album title of the year! "Static delusions" actually isn't a bad way to describe their music-a mix of classic seventies stomp and Detroit jive in a statically aesthetic sort of way. In a Rock & Roll community that's anything but tired these days, very few newbies will come along and do something remotely exciting. I like the energy these guys have-their crash and bang ability rivaled by none, they employ the best shred of classic Stooges and modern-minded marvels as Turbonegro and the Swedish cult scene to create something truly caustic, cathartic and chunky. Look out for the cave-in quality of "Been There Before," "3000 Ways," and the slow burn of "Bleary Haze," for the latest in trend crashing three chord club Rock with a flair for the dramatic-think old Rollins, Mudhoney, and Lower East Side sleaze!
