This record reeks of 1970's nostalgia right down to the brown-toned cover backing and band name lettering, not to mention the contents therein, audibly stacked in reverb and rousing feed driven fanfare and plenty o' the guitar Rock and groove quality those many high collared low cuts among us are sure to appreciate with their next shot o' the good stuff. Call it Rock & Roll cuz that's all it is and ever aspires to be and you know what, it's enough. Then again just call it Bob Seger and you're close enough to getting the same result. is the first one that stands out at ya, not a slight on the "What
I Sling together a slabs o' Sabbath,
Southern fried Blues and Boogie and a little of the Kiss chord simplicity,
made loud to be played loud and that kinda talk which should always apply
and sometimes falls on understandably deaf ears... and well, The Brought
Low, bring it in a manner most of us are unaccustomed to or can't
remember far enough back Stick around long enough and you'll know what I mean. Delightfully sober which is a kind way of saying these aren't your atypical bong-loading leaf worshippers regurgitating the same five finger fuzz fray in a vacuum, bore ya to tears cause when it comes time to placing name to song, you can't well imagine where the Hell you were two minutes ago let along two songs! Sure it all makes sense here, these guys, a power-trio from Brooklyn and all of a sudden The Dixie Dregs appear outta nowhere-sure there's some a that old fashioned down home cooking but nary a Pop lick or bubbly chorus to obscure the view which whilst quickly getting blurred, lasts long enough for you to appreciate an honest album of loosely fitted Hard Rock and faded blues. The Brought Low brought
