Hit After Hit

The Briefs

"Lobotomy!" "Lobotomy!"

Oops, wrong song.

Wrong band in fact… no this is not a Ramones tribute but going by the first tune "Poor and Weird," they've got an uncanny likeness to said Punk pioneers.

Rhythmically, there's little distinction as The Briefs employ those very same quick three chord changes and barging backing vox within their relatively succinct versions of proven Punk-styled staples-"Silver Bullet," their tribute we'll assume to Bob Seger-well I mean if you're singing about "Killing Bob Seger right now" and bellowing "Kill," "Die" in the background, in Punk circles, it's probably as close as yer gonna get to a tribute right?

With a get up that'd make The Cars gloss over in admiration and The Damned tear through the legal files, The Briefs deliver a cruising the strip style of posh-modern glinty-eyed Punk Rock that's a throwback to yesterdays late '70s sun-drenched, denim-faded heroes with enough pistol-whipping swagger to give even Johnny himself an irrepressible case of the shits and giggles.
