THE ATMOSPHERE Part 3 of the Cataclysm Singles is a compilation CD from Indiana based Blacklight Records offering a mix of Sci-Fi, Techno and Industrial based Metal. This American release with its moody Industrial cover and Gothic sounding bands has a very European quality to it, particularly in the first 3 tracks, which seem to have the most futuristic yet Gothic feel, especially the ingeniously named FATAL BLAST WHIP's,' INVASION', and TEMPLE OF TIMES' 'BLOODSTAINED'. The tracks by SKINDOT and JAGGED DOCTRINE have elements of German Industrialists Die Krupp's, while TOXIC CHURCH's 'TURNAROUND' is a traditional Ministryesque Industrail headbanger and SEEK offer something for the Deathmetal noisemakers. Much of the album has the samples and decks sound associated with Industrail Techno and to me the album offers a neat slice of the U.S. scene and would be a wise buy for any Industrial-Techno or Metal fan.
