Feather and a Tomahawk
STEVE HYAMS

Though MOTT THE HOOPLE fans will know the name, most have little idea exactly who Steve Hyams is. This record will do much to change the singer/songwriter/guitarists current lack of notoriety and with any luck, supply him with a very richly deserved hit.

"Feather and a Tomahawk" is a collection of intensely personal songs that are enveloped in lush arrangements that don't forget to rock out. The feel could be described as Lindsey Buckingham era FLEETWOOD MAC meets Bruce Springsteen. Great songs and heartfelt singing over basic four-count rock and roll.

For me, the lyric that makes the album comes from the song "Bethlehem Steel", "The way that I feel, my heart is made of gold, yours is made of Bethlehem steel." This is classic songwriting, every word, every phrase.

Other tracks worth specific mention are "Chasin' Money," "Eldorado" (great harp!) and the up tempo, "Never Judge A Man." If this record does manage to become a hit then we will all get to hear more of Hyams and that alone is worth recommending this to a friend or better yet, buy 'em a copy yourself.
They will thank you for it.
