4. Atmosfears (8:00)
5. Restraints (7:55)

The opening track is 'A Different View' this track starts off with some atmospheric sounds, you can hear a bell ringing in the distance and then theres a short narrated passage. In comes a heavy riff, it's quite slow and moves from one speaker to the other. Some of the guitar work is quite intricate and fairly fast too. Theres a drum passage that sounds like it's been taken from the Queen track 'Liar'.

Then in comes another riff and the vocals come in. Towards the middle of the track the music then changes direction and becomes more mellow, with softer vocals and intricate guitar, then changes back to the heavier stuff with a superb guitar solo.

Then theres another change in direction with some military style drumming and a Megadeth type riff, some sampled voices then back to the main theme before fading away.

The next track is 'King of Paris', starts fairly heavily with extrmely fast drumming and some nice guitar. The vocals are slightly higher pitched than on the previous track and remind me of Sparks (mid 1970's pop group - had a hit with 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us'). In comes some heavy guitar, then theres a change in direction, more mellow with softer vocals. More heavy guitar then back to mellow with some nice bass, keyboards and guitar.

Later theres what sounds like a mandolin playing with a nice lead break, then it's back to the heavier sound with the Sparks style vocals.

The third track 'Walls Of Silence', starts with a slow, intricate and atmospheric guitar followed by a heavy riff coming in over the sound of a good solid drum sound. This then settles down to a more mellow sound with some nice intricate guitar, the vocals are soft. Then theres a change in direction with some nice acoustic guitar coming in with a heavy guitar coming in occassionally. Thers also some sampled voices excellent guitar and keyboards. Another change in direction and some outstanding guitar work.

The next track 'Atmosfears' is an instrumental, mainly guitar orientated with many changes in direction, mood and tempo. Theres also some nice keyoards which add depth to the track.

The final track is 'Restraints', which starts off with some nice bass and guitar, similar in style to Pink Floyd. Theres also quite a lot of Megadeth influence to some aprts of this track.

I am glad to say that at last ther are now some progressive metal bands who are not influenced by Dream Theater, Fates Warning, etc, not that there is anything wrong with these bands, but it's nice to see some bands coming up with their own sound and that's exactly what Silent Lucidity have done.

Alright there are some influences there such as Queen, Queensryche, Megadeth, Sparks and Pink Floyd, but Silent Lucidity's music is a mixture of Progressive Metal and Progressive Rock giving it a unique and complex sound to it. Silent Lucidity though still manage to retain a melodic quality even though at times their music is extrmely heavy.

Positive As Sound comes highly recommended.
