"Pathetic Being"

Sceptic

Upon first viewing the additional video clip for the title track I am now firmly assured that we are indeed in the 21st century… a cooler brand of digitized cyber Death and noise infiltration there never was.

Sceptic is a newcomer to the Death Metal scene.

Originating from Poland, one could ascertain their connection with the likes of Vader,
the highly acclaimed leaders of the latter and while differences do exist, each has a tenacity in delivery that runs parallel to each other, with Sceptic holding a slight edge in the technological aspects, Vader, entrenched more in a medieval form of darkness.

To be sure, no one will ponder through the lyrics here and find immediate gratification or
sanctity within their own existence-by design, the title says about all you need to know.

Riding the rail of traditionally Thrash riffs and caustic taunts, the outlay is fast, furious and usually frenzied with a few minor instrumental interludes filtered in for effect.

Poland, perhaps as logical a place as any for such a musical extreme, has long been a back route to the arrival of the countless leaders we've come to identify in the extreme Metal scene though with more bands such as Sceptic, that may well be about to change.

The production work is crisp, the riffs, boundless, some layered in melodies, most abominated by fiery scaled solos and more often than not frequent harmonizing making for a more complete work where the songs, still susceptible to drone, come away singularly impulsive and fresh.

Definitely a new breed and high caliber of technical ability by a band destined to make its
mark much like had a Vader or even an At The Gates in their prime.
