Reborn In Steel is a phrase you could use to sum up this whole CD. Sacred Steel sound and look a lot like Judas Priest even down th the rob Halford lookalike on vocals. Now that's not a bad thing in itself as Reborn In Steel has many fine moments, 'Metal Reigns Supreme', 'True Force Of Iron Glory' and 'Sword Of The King' are my favourite tracks.

In truth although this has a distinctive retro feel about it Sacred Steel play with all the passion and power that is true metal.

And this style of metal is highly popular all over Europe, and for like minded individuals there's no finer example than Reborn In Steel

Us Brits certainly started something back in the '70s. Just around the time Punk had burned itself out along came the likes of Maiden, Priest , Saxon and a whole heap of others and the NWOBHM was born and as time moved on the more adventurous amongst them experimented with different styles, playing harder, faster, experimenting with different sounds and rhtythms which eventually lead to the many genres we all listen to today. All very different it's true, but scratch the surface and you'll find one thing they all have in common, they were all influenced in someway by bands from those early days, and afer many years in the wilderness this style of metal now labelled true metal is making a comeback, and I for one am glad it is.

One of the bands responsible for this are Sacred Steel, who follow up 1997's critically acclaimed debut Reborn In Steel. With Wargods Of Metal, an album for true metal fans young and old, Sacred Steel are without doubt a heavy metal band in every sense, Macho poses, spikes, leather and lyrics in the tradition of Judas Priest. OK, some of you may find all this just a little OTT, but Sacred Steel are a fine band. Gerrit's vocal range is quite incredible, while the guitar work of both Knittel and Grosshans is at times breattaking and by the time the opening number 'Wargods Of Metal' comes to a end you'll be shaking your fist and banging your head likes theres no tomorrow.

Thirteen tracks of pure heavy metal played out over 45 mins by a band who are the masters of their craft. Out of the tracks themselves, I particularly like the powering rhtythm and sudden change of pace of 'Tonight The Witches Ride', the short, but very effective guitar solo on 'Carnage Rules The Fields Of Death' and the all out attack of 'By Steel We Rule' and 'Army Of Metalheads'.

Oh and by the way, you'll be singing the chorus line of 'Iron Legions' for weeks. This is one hell of a mutha of an album that should be played very very loud and Sacred Steel prove without a doubt that they are heavy metal to the end and good luck to them.
Highly Recommended!!!
