The duo Scott Rockenfield and Paul Speer has composed an instrumental concept album. Some of you might know that Scott Rockenfield is one of the founding members of Queensryche, but the music on this album is far away from Queensryche's.

Their latest album "Hells Canyon" are a musical journey through the deepest gorge in North America, Hells Canyon,

Each song has a different atmosphere and mood. It's a mix between ambient, fusion, new age and progressive rock with reminiscences to Djam Karet, Mike Oldfield, Tangerine Dream and Xang.

Scott and Paul are magnificent musicians but they're not trying to "show off". Even though Scott Rockenfield is a magnificent drummer, I especially like Paul Speer's guitar playing.

The melodies are always in the focus, and that's why this album doesn't get boring. This is the best instrumental album I've heard since Xang's "Destiny of a Dream" in 1999.

Highly recommended!
