"Right Brigade" Right Brigade |
|
Getting it "right" the first time, these Boston bashers have their fists firmly clenched and ready to unload on the poor bastards of Bean town and one day, the world. Picking up where the likes of SSD and Negative FX left off, theirs is not a style that'll be confused with the confused and befuddled Pop-star Punks scheming to get rich off the angst of a nation. Where Dropkick Murphys have cleared the path for barroom rabble rousing and other assorted sing along/drink along faire, Right Brigade has a bold in your face style that should outlast many in their division simply because they've got not only the power but the precision in their song structures that belie expectancy "Broken," "Back From This," "Bullets," feature absolutely nothing new or intolerable in Punk Rock circles-your usual vent of frustration risen to the surface kinda like battery acid exploding in your eyes when you've gotten too close-there's a lot of Sick of It All in here so far-"FTK," or "Fuck the Kids," "Falling Down," and more "F" words than mere decency should endure. They're not up for any awards to
make ours a kindler, gentler existence so what the fuck? "Falling
Down's" got an interesting groove going for it-somewhat upset and
unsettling and in its own subtle way just has that extra something that
most of the time we overlook simply because we're bombarded over and again
by round after round of "Waste of Breath" is another riff-blaster, feeding our hunger for power and then overwhelming to the point where we wonder why broke away from the safe haven of commercial radio. Right Brigade, pulled from the Bad Brains' tune of the same name, makes no promises, preaches no salvation or answers to anyone in particular; they just play hard, fast and mean, no cross purposes, no technical innovations, just a good sound kick in the teeth!
