Waiting To Die (4:17) On listening to pist•'s new album 'Sell Out', my thoughts are now that pist•on are well on the road to becoming one of the very few bands who can claim to be really original. 'Sell Out' in my mind will finally let pist•on loose the now infamous crossover tag, something they never should have been labelled with in the first place. Well, on first listening to 'Sell Out', I was overcome by the track '31 Degrees', this to me was the albums stand out track and nothing was going to change my mind. Well, thats what I thought at the time. But later that evening when I played 'Sell Out' again, the album suddenly fell into place, you see the songs are more mature than on their previous outing 'Number one'. However it still has the bands characteristic morose lyrics, bass driven heavy rhythms and crunching guitars, but this time round they've added a whole bunch of melodies as well as giving each and every song that must play agian feel, as well as giving themselves an identity of their own. 'Sell Out' is simply bursting with the type of songs that linger in your mind and whether you find '31 Degrees', 'Low', 'Suddenly Sober' better than the rest, one things for sure, you won't hear another album this year that lingers in your mind like this one. Highly Recommended and bloody brilliant!!!! Released by Music For Nations. 333 Latimer Road. London W10 6RA Website : http://www.peaceville.com/ |
