He Is Rising
PREMONITION

Premonition is Count Dane on Guitars (and magical fingers), Tattoo Frank on Lead Vocals (severe mood swings), Doug Mirly on Drums (thunder feet) and Shirran on Bass (coffin).

The tracks are : 'Wicked One', 'Nervous Breakdown', 'T.V. Kills', 'He Is Rising', 'Bernard Ghetts', 'She Decompensates', 'My heroin', 'Roman Prince', 'King of Spain', 'What Is Wrong '97', 'The Boy Woith A Nothing Face'.

He Is Rising is a straight between the eyes heavy metal CD. Heavily influenced by the likes of Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. There can be no doubt about the Black Sabbath influence here, none more so than on the title track 'He Is Rising' and 'Bernard Ghetts'.

Now this would normally get slated for the above reasons, but not in this case. Premonition stamp enough of their own style to make this CD stand up and be counted on it's own merits.

Tattoo Frank's vocals and Count Dane on guitar seem to be the main stay of the band. Frank's unique vocal style penetrates the senses, just begging to be listened to and Dane's guitar works obviously influenced by the likes of Malmsteen are in places quite simply superb.

There are 11 tracks on offer and they cover all aspects. Like mental illness, drug addiction, child abuse and tell the truth at all times and for this I take my hat off to them.

If I had to choose my favourite tracks it would have to be 'Nervous Breakdown', were guitar and vocals combine perfectly to form a picture of someone suffering bigtime. You don't need any imagination here, and what is wrong with a song that just simply says "What's wrong with the legal system of today, were you can sell drugs, abuse children, but if you cheat on your taxes you will get sent down". Well said, Premonition, it's a shame our politicians don't see it that way.

To be truthful all of the songs hit you straight between the eyes, not only because of the quality of musicianship on offer, but for the lyrical content. Premonition talk about the darker side of life in a very down to earth manner. So He Is Rising isn't for the faint hearted.Having said that please do not be put off by this remark. But fact is fact just the same as He Is Rising is one of he best straight forward heavy metal abums.

He Is Rising is a stunning piece of work and I look forward to hearing much more of Premonition in the future.
He Is Rising is self released by Premonition.
