The opening track is 'Freeworld', an excellent track with a very nice melody. The music is very much in the Yes vein (early Yes that is The Yes album, Fragile, Close To The Edge period). There's some excellent guitar, slide guitar and atmospheric keyboards with a wonderful inviting bass sound. Nice vocals.

The next track is 'China', another excellent track with wonderful keyboard sequences and some stunning slide guitar and guitar work. Theres also some lovely vocal harmonies.

The third track 'Perfect Prison', this is a nice acoustic track that is also quite catchy. It's quite a mellow tarck and the vocals are soft. Theres some atmospheric moments when you can hear the sound of the ocean.

The next track 'The Hermit', opens with the sound of pouring rain and thunder, and some great bass work. nice acoustic guitar and vocals that remind me a bit of Chris Squire. Theres some great keyboards and guitar and many changes in direction, mood and tempo.

'Solar Spectra', starts with some atmospheric/spacey keyboard sounds, the vocals are soft and mellow. Lots of drums and percussion with some great guitar work.

The sixth track 'Gates Walk', starts with acoustic guitar and some nice vocals. Then changes direction when the electric guitar comes in, Lots of intricate guitar work, nice harmonies and wonderful keyboards.

The next track 'The Empress', a great track with some wonderful acoustic guitar, nice vocals, atmospheric keyboards and some great guitar work.

'Wardrums', starts with some manic guitars, then the vocals come in, and after a while the guitar becomes a lot more mellow. Strong melody and quite catchy.

The ninth track 'The Chariot', This is quite a complex piece featuring lots of intricate guitar work, great drum and bass work, haunting rhythms and keyboards, all done at an extremely fast pace. The whole thing gradually builds up to a climax then dies down to some atmospheric sounds before the vocals come in. The vocals are soft and mellow and the atmospheric keyboards carry on in the background.

Crossing The Sound is an excellent album, the musicianship is superb as is the quality of production.
If you like good progressive rock music, then I would suggest you take a listen to this album. It's as I said earlier very much in the Yes vein, but other influences I would have to say are Chris Squire, Genesis, Steve Hackett and a bit of King Crimson.
Highly Recommended!!!
