Exploratory progression… a magnificent quest through the stars, over and beyond "Illusion Dimensions," a boundary that exists between time and space, and we, the listeners, need only the desire to soar ever higher than our material world and all its trappings… Oratory is a six member band out of Portugal that provides a generous glimpse toward the future, subjectively through their lyrics and their vision, a combination of traditionally inspired melodic rock, progressive dynamics and splendid use of a magnanimous imagination that brings into focus such surrealism as ingrained within the likes of glory, melody, light and legacy. A combination that merges fiction with fantasy and "Imaginations from the Other Side…" and that being the solarisphere, an as yet undiscovered interplanetary terrain where cordial souls rule in an opulent kingdom built upon desire and fascination. Oratory makes bold use of male and female vocals and draws immediate comparisons to both the greats of the Gothic realm and Symphonic Metal's majesty-envision the uniting of such talents as Theater of Tragedy, Nocturnal Rites, Stratovarius… maybe a little of Therion, with each element enhanced by the enticing choir-like voices that echo from beyond… classically inspired music for those willing to settle for no less than a true spiritual enlightenment. Oratory's debut ranks far above very many of their field, conscious more I think of containing each participant to fit within their own developed scheme where no one part will rise to outshine another. Are they new and exciting? To an extent-they do get caught from time to time in their own incandescence, never usually too flighty but at times a little too mournful even if the words don't always imply it as such. As with many on the Limb Music roster, "Illusion Dimensions" finds the progressive fires burning bright, and for a debut, ranks near the top with a fine blend of orchestral, classical and metal arrangements, varied tempos and shiftless views built on the wings of tomorrow… Limb Music Products
