Recorded live at the Carlton Theatre, Hamilton, New Zealand in November 1997. NKU is a very laid back progressive rock album with a very ecological feel to it, the best example of this is the opening track which consists of three parts entitled 'Hey Jonah'.

The programming intros is so real you can almost see the great whale swimming in front of your very eyes while the guitar work is of laid back blues rock style not dissimilar to Pink Floyd.

The next track 'Waves' again contains some excellent keyboard work with a wonderful rhythm to the guitar sound which not only adds atmosphere to the whole song but sets the tone for the rest of the album.

'Catchup' is the first vocal track on the album, a simple rock rhythm with a vocal style similar to Hendrix in delivery, giving it a '69 ish feel to it.

'Song Of Water, Song Of Fire' sees the band going a bit more uptempo with an excellent bass line, driving rhythm and great keyboard work that just add to the atmosphere created in their earlier numbers.

'America' continues in the uptempo vein, while 'Gnau People' with it's Hawkwind style programming and Pink Floyd runnning bass line gives a mean and moody effect to the album.

'Floating' is so damn laid back, you can almost imagine floating on thin air right up in the clouds.

'Visitations' end the procedings in a similar way 'Hey Jonah' started it all off. 5 Mins + of some of the most outstanding programming that I have heard with a wonderful feeling of total relaxation and inner peace.

The musicianship is excellent, with some elements from bands such as Pink Floyd, Hawkwind and even the great Hendrix, and combining this into their own style. The sheer sense of relaxing and inner peace I felt while listening to NKU is almost impossible to put into words, it truly is a unique musical experience and one you should invest in without hesitation.
