"Return to Grimpen Ward" Mentallo & The Fixer |
|
The team of brothers Gary and Dwayne Dassing first set into motion their quest for achieving the density of heavy Rock music through the use of cutting edge techniques and beat branded mobility during the late '80s. Harboring influences that ranged from The Cars, to OMD, to Gary Numan, their music first reached fruition a decade ago, synonymously becoming Mentallo & The Fixer, adopted from an obscure comic book duo. Several underground releases and
varied courses have led to several significant releases based broadly
within the realm of electronic music while retaining the coarseness of
their origins-"Return of Grimpen Ward" arrives at a time when
the unit, somewhat depleted though no less accomplished, put their technique
to the test in the recreation and Integral to their own work as well as those who'll likely follow, "Return " is a broad scope of synthesized dexterity with determination, grit and integrity which nods at a time long past while a glimmering future presides over their latest dose of surrealism. Based upon the disproportionate disposition and decomposition of the material world, "Grimpen " is serious in its undertaking, as were the artists who first developed it. Energetically paced, fused with fluidity as well as rigidity with little use for reticence, theirs is a story of principled philosophy schooled in the state of the art where development and deft all draw to a conclusive climax on this fourteen track edition that captures many of their greatest moments.- Released by Metropolis Records Metropolis Records PO Box 54307
