The cover of this
CD left me completely in the dark as to what to expect. It is a red rose
on a black background. Says nothing to me.....
The first track starts with guitars, beating out their progressive rhythm
with drums matching well. A few seconds in and there are some fiddely
guitar bits. All sounding very reminiscent of some late 80's thrash, but
deeper.
The the vocals come in and it's all downhill from there. The vocallist
has a voice that is trying to rival that of most other thrash band voices
(Dickenson, Belladonna etc), but without the power to go with it. The
final effect is unfortunately quite dull.
The second song starts off as an acoustic little number, and the vocallist
appears to be more suited to this style of song. When the electric guitars
join, again the vocals are superceeded.
All of the three songs start off well, even if the intorductions are a
little long, but are let down greatly by the dulcit tones of the vocallist.
The music is good (if a little slow), but the whole CD just lacks depth
and substance in the vocals.
