Living Sacrifice are what would happen if Napalm Death went Christian, the Arkansas band bearing an uncanny resemblance to the British grindcore gods. Reborn sounds dead identical to NP's Inside the Torn Apart from 1997, and lead belcher Bruce Fitzhugh can count himself in the running when NP inevitably gives Barney Greenway the boot again. Regardless of one's opinions of the lyrics (depending on one's religious beliefs, but let's NOT open that door), Living Sacrifice are a hard, heavy, and very for-real band. I like the record, it's just odd hearing such spiritual, religious, and positive words spewed out in such a harsh, brutal manner. Review by Mark Tinta |
