See You in the Next LifeLibertine |

First of all where'd they come up with something like "If Wishes were Horses" for the first song title? I get the idea about fighting hard and ultimately losing… so where's the tie in though? If wishes were racecars would they have more of an impact? Nice tune though, quickly played, strong backing and string work… Libertine is the name and they seem to follow along the hard rock and punk direction while making clever use of pop harmonies and catchy melodies-early work of Social D comes to mind particularly on tunes like "Heart Break" which would make for a good first single… or has it already? I like this other one "Moscow" which comes at ya seemingly right from the amplifier tube… directly in your face and loud! There's an English pub-style snottiness in the backing vocs but overall Libertine follows more of a trash and glam route rather than backstreets hard-core lunacy. And where were you hiding when the storm broke through? "Beautiful Disaster" ranks up near the top for its stage-dive appeal and neck-wringing charm. Overall, Libertine's not reminiscent of a band ready to check out just yet… in spite of those still capped pill bottles gracing the back cover song titles-but just in case, yank open the medicine chest and grab a handful of this while you're still able to get 'em… you never know with these rock and roll eccentrics, just what they're liable to do next!
