With a collective age of just 17, Kittie are showing bands double their age what metal is all about. Kittie have either had the piss ripped out of them or they are despised by the press, well I only got one thing to say to those people - "Get a fucking life".

If these people put as much effort into their writing as they do taking the piss they'd probably all be up for Pulitzer prizes.

Being a first time listener to Kittie I can say I have been pleasantly surprised by just how mature these girls are.

It makes a change that we actually have an all girl band out there that can play. No offence intended to rest of the female bands out there, but Kittie sure does have an edge.

They play with the precision of a surgeon wielding a scalpel. Morgan's vocals show that she is a very capable front-woman, with nice melodic tones hanging well alongside that heavy chugging riff that they seem to do so well.

'Mouthful of Poison' is probably one of the best tracks on this offering for me, with Morgan sounding like a woman who actually recorded her vocals just before that time of the month (about 1130 PMT), basically what I'm saying is she is fucking scary. Her screams are brutal and wouldn't sound out of place on a Cradle Of Filth album.

Their pulverising cover of Pink Floyd's 'Run Like Hell' is actually very good, giving it their very own sound.

The closing track 'Pink Lemonade' sums Kittie up pretty much. It's a brave slow and evil 10 minute track which shows a more mature level, Slipknot take note!!

The best thing you can say about 'Oracle' is give these kids a chance, and you will be pleasantly surprised. The fans will love it; the rest of you will hate it.
