I was first introduced to this band Kill II This like most of you via the release of their 1997 debut 'Another Cross II Bare' and one thing became apparent very early on and that was that Kill II This were not just another crossover band, they had a certain flexibility to their music that put them along way ahead of the competition and left you with a gut feeling that Kill II This could break into the bigtime.

Well 1998 find KIll II This still carrying on down the creative road with a new album and indeed a new label. Visible Noise. Visible Noise's policy is no restrictions and no limits to the artists creativity and this makes Visible Noise an ideal home for Kill II This, and the end result is 'Deviate' and quite 'Deviate' is Blinding!!!

Kill II This' creative talents are evident from the first few bars of Deviate's second track 'Kill Your Gods', sharp stabbing riffs, lovely vocal harmonies and some first rate sampling sets the listener up perfectly for whats to follow.

But it's on tracks such as 'The Flood' and 'Funeral Around My Heart' that show exactly what Kill II This are capable of.

'The Flood' is extreme and brutal with all the power you'd expect from a band that can quite easily compete with the likes of Machine Head and Fear Factory. But it's the latter part of this song that makes it stand out with some really atmospheric programming giving the feeling of a full orchestra.

'The Flood' would have been my favourite cut on Deviate, if it had not been for 'Funeral Around my Heart', which apart from the church bells features some wonderful almost choir like vocals that would send a shiver down the spine of most Die Hard metal Fans.

Which only leaves one question left unanswered can Kill II This transfer these creative talents onto a live stage. Well, the answer is yes, I was lucky enough to catch KIll II This live earlier this year in Portsmouth (England) supporting Psycore and Stuck Mojo.

Now in most cases being the 1st on a 3 band bill is like Daniel being thrown to the lion's den, but not in this case for once, they let the music do the talking and kept the whole audience spellbound throughout their (far to short) set.

If this is the quality we can expect over the next few months or so from Visible Noise the we're in for a musical feast. In the meantime, If this is really the soundtarck to murder and the world will really self-destruct, just make sure you listen to Deviate before the whole thing goes up in smoke.

Highly Recommended!!!
