Collection for InjectionKevorkian Death Cycle |
|
Well if the name doesn't reach out and grab you… you at least have to wonder how the thought process translates into music. Yes, the man, the "Doctor of Death" if you will, noted in recent times more for this frightful fanaticism applied to his chosen craft by a daring new breed of artists with grand designs of exploring the darker side of the human psyche-fear unlimited of sorts-and wonder no more, this latest death cycle lulls you in and out of consciousness at a subliminal level… dead but dreaming? And then we enter into this eerie vortex where fear and fascination collide in a startling burst of pyrotechnic energy that only begins to unfold during the opening moments of what turns out to be a dazzling display of post-industrial inoculations. Originally created back in '97, this reissue, updated and enhanced reexamines the initial promise first laid forth by this band of socio-political upstarts in their determination to wrest the mind and spirit away from the bawdiness of the body… "Man Made," "Let Us Die," Faithless," "Kill for Christ," never bound within the feebleness of the human condition, this is a synthetic projection bred of a purity of essence-negative energy of sorts that bleeds the machine as it slowly devours itself on the killing floor! "Collection for Injection," or songs from the electric chair… uneasy listening in its glowing hour… allow the free flowing currents to take control and place you at the forefront of a heightened insecurity… deeply precise beats rain down in a flood of hypnotic hits that inch dangerously closer to the hypo… Released by Metropolis Records Review by Vinnie Apicella [va85@columbia.edu] |
