Having stumbled upon the JENDZA musical crypt a few years ago I fully expected their latest disc, they call it “RUJUVENATED,” to be a decent slab of punk inflected metal lacquered with a heavy coat of glam but I could never have fathomed just how good it would actually be.

This is not only JENDZA’s best but is in fact THE best thing to escape the Detroit underground since Iggy popped the STOOGES in the mid seventies.

Each of the disc’s tracks has it’s own snaky charm but there are four numbers that guarantee endless replay;

1) “Rejuvenated” thumps you harder and inspires more dread than being locked into a coffin and sent six feet down with out the benefit of having first died. “I, I, I want your soul. . .” pleads vocalist Derek Jendza as if there was really a choice after hearing the song, just incredible.

2) “Digital Dogs” is simply a perfect song. Every facet of this gem, by design or unintentional creation I couldn’t say, is so sharply cut that it alone should garner JENDZA the big label deal that they are after.

3) “Space Vampire” is Bradley Jendza’s duel confession/boast that his unseen inside may be far scarier than his eerie shell. Try not to sing along by the second time the chorus creeps by, can’t be done.

4) “I Made Love 2 A Corpse” well, that kind of speaks for itself, doesn’t it?

Not destined to be added to any Church hymnals but it will definitely get its thunder rolling in countless CD and tape players as the JENDZA virus spreads.

Don’t lay still for too long lest someone inspired by this song comes a-courtin’. The thing that hits hardest about this collection of screams, and dreams is that it finally captures the excitement of the live JENDZA experience in full color.

The music actually goes well beyond the animation of is container without ever getting too campy, kinda Alice Cooper meets the SEX PISTOLS to compare their BEATLES collections.

“REJUVENATED” suggests a fish-eyed lens view of rock music’s future while winking at the past guaranteeing that JENDZA’s pot will be boiling over in very short order, I suggest you wear a smock because this could get messy.
