Jane Doe is a Toronto based quartet which was formed in the summer of 1994 by ex-members of Maidenstone (Toronto), Mobilyzer (Niagara) and Roxanne (Vancouver).

Jane Doe's philosophy is simple, to play explosive shows and write an abundance of music which stay's true to themselves. Their combined influences allows them to write songs about the importance of individuality.

Jane Doe is an all female industrial metal band. Most of the tracks contain a heavily distorted guitar sound. Diane has a powerful voice and sings similar sometimes to Tairrie B when she formed Manhole (now known as Tura Satana).

Cathy's drums and Laurie bass have a good solid sound to them. The music reminds me a little of Nine Inch Nails, Gravity Kills and Jesus and Mary Chain. My only criticism was that I thought a couple of the tracks were too short and could have done with expanding a bit.

But, nevertheless Two And Two Are One is a very good debut album from Jane Doe. If they carry on writing good songs like the ones on this album, I can see them having a bright future ahead of them.
