Pictures Of Pain

HORRORSCOPE

This album has all the makings of a typical European Rock band recording.

From the band name to the death metal artwork, this gives a false impression of the content of the inner album.

In fact this band hace a very tight and clear sound throughout these 12 tracks and they couldn't have picked a better track to kick things off than "Inferno".

After a short 30 second intro at the very start of the album, this track kicks in ans wastes no time in getting to the point. From a short drum intro, the vocals fade in backed up by a cleverly matched guitar riff before midway, the double bass drumming ans classic guitar sol breaks through to really make the most of this opening track, which leaves you expectant of the following ten tracks.

Track 3 "Highway Of The Losts", begins with a enjoyable intro mix of guitar ans soft snare & cymbal drumwork, which gradually builds into the heart of the bands style of music with the growling vocals and fairly technical drumming.

This pretty much sums up the direction of the album until a twist in the story is found at track 7 "Deal With The Devil", although it is only a short track there are a lot of familier sections in this one track, which takes great similarities with such bands such as IN FLAMES.

From then on this blueprint becomes the formula for the rest if the recording with familier guitar solos and a vocal style, very typical of the crop of European metal bands around today.
