High Risk |
| High Risk are : Tommy Dean on Lead Vocals and Guitar, Dean Peterson on Bass and Vocals and Tim Karbowski on Drums and Vocals. The tracks are : 'Willy Street', 'Cat In the Hat', 'The Hate Song', 'Crash', 'One way Or Another', 'Dead Gangster', 'DILLIGAF', 'Don't Dog Me', '4:00a.m.', 'Pink/Peter'. I every picture really did tell a story then 'Fast & Cheap' probably would never be taken off the shelf as the cover to this CD doesn't do this album any favours. Thankfully the contents make up for the poor cover, infact this CD is full of fine full bodied Punk/Metal songs. Drawing inspiration from all that was best in'77 and beyond. This really is a tale of two halves. 10 tracks in total, the first five being influenced by the wonderful care free day's of the late '70's. Just listen to 'Cat In The Hat', 'The Hate Song' and 'Crash', full of hate, full of attitude, in your face punk/metal tracks. High Risk even do a cover of a Blondie song 'One Way Or Another', although not one of Blondie's best, High Risk give it the full treatment and mark my words it's better than the Debbie Harry original. Apart from the first few bass lines of 'Dead Gangster', this song marks the change from punk/metal to pure metal, 'DILLIGAF', 'Don't Dog Me' and '4:00 a.m.' are all prime examples of how to play blues based metal, while the final track Pink/Peter a 9 min+ instrumental, lets the boys show off their talents in full. The track in question contains elements of the Pink Panther theme/Peter Gunn (hence the title), Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner and lots lots more, all laid down in true metal fashion. Putting fashion to one side High Risk have produced the goods in Fast & Cheap. this is the type of music you can slam in the car stereo on a hot summers day, crank up the volume and cruise around annoying people for all the right reasons.
