"Ventilate" Hedder |
|
Give me something, anything to "Fill The Void." That "void" that's been
missing for so long in Hard Rock circles-the one where you're all I think the direction that Rock's taken in recent years, forsaking individualist talents in favor of incorporating a wider array of influences is a double-edged sword. At times you yield to some impressive
collections of music but at times lose track of who I like these guys and I like the name "Hedder" better than I like Auntie May or whatever they used to call themselves! They're localized musicians moving into a better neighborhood with a major label quality offering. Tracks like "Fill The
Void," with its ethereal back up to a fast-forward guitar riff,
along The tunes seem a bit scattered probably in relation to their differing time frames of production which I believe covers a two or three year period. Nonetheless the differences are subtle and speak well of their versatility where they can go full throttle, trash it up a bit, wind it down-"Pull You Into Me," or go a little left of center, "For You, For Me." Comparatively, there's a little bit of Soil, Stereomud, and Sevendust thrown in the mix in what comes off as a competent, occasionally clichéd first offering for a band with potential.
