Hair Of The Dog are a heavy metal band and play with a heavy blues influence. The guitars are very dominant and heavy with the vocals being fairly gritty, but still tuneful.

The first track 'Cadillac Jack', is a more straight forward metal track, this track hits in like a bullet, heavy and one to get you going. One thing you will notice straight away is that the production quality on the CD is absolutely superb. Just listen to the gunshot sounds midway through the track.

'Whisky Tango' contains a guitar swing style that makes this more interesting and this track also features a great solo.

'Satin Girl' deviates from the mould in that the song is based around a vocal melody rehter than a guitar riff.

'The Party Ain't Over' is the heaviest song on the album. It features a stop/start riff and an excellent wah wah drenched solo.

The lyrics on the album are what I would say as fairly typical for this type of music, except for 'Southern Cock'. This track features the classic line
"The farmers gone and the roosters ready to rock".

Hair Of The Dog play this type of music very well and all of the songs are strong. This album is a very good example of Blues metal.
Highly Recommended!!!
