"G Sides"

Gorillaz

In a music world where popularity is based by hard looks and rough exteriors, The Gorillaz come across like the Monty Python of Popular music.

They're an animated fun loving four-character crew bursting with personality, break beats and pun.

"G-Sides" is a nine track mini-EP morphed of remixes and rarities stemming from their big selling "Tomorrow Comes Today" EP of a year ago and extensive character acting
that belies believability.

Yet, after numerous music award nominations, they are very much a reckoning force.

Their make up features four "celebrity" types bred of Modern Rock and self-described "Zombie Hip-Hop" that do in fact create something completely different.

On the one hand you're absorbed in the noisiness and mayhem of "The Sounder" or
"Ghost Train," the next, peaceably drowned in subtle shades of ambience, "Clint Eastwood," "Hip Albatross," and always eager eyed and attentive to see which direction you're guided next.

Additionally there's a funky blend of varied musical types to add to an unsurpassed eclecticism-this indescribable mix of individualist talent that employs groundbreaking UK
House, Trance, Dub, and Hip-Hop highlights for a remarkably senseless and sensational combination.

Pick hit-"19-2000" (Soulchild Remix) which in spite of its new found elasticity, makes for an accessibly catchy radio friendly dance track falling somewhere between Faithless and The
Powerpuff Girls.
