If you're like me, and occassionally you get a bit bored with all the doom, gloom and depression that is now common place in the music we all have then GET animal might be just what you are looking for.

You see GET animal play straight forward balls to the wall Rock'n'Roll. It's not complex, it's about heart and a whole lot of attitude. GET animal's debut album is dripping with pure fun and combines Blues, Rock, Sleeze and Glam elements in a scalding hot brew of powerful guitar riffs, tight grooves and anthemic chorus'.

The opener 'I'm On It' or the catchy 'Miracle' are reminiscent of early Motley Crue, and tracks such as 'Hey Hey Nothing', 'Countdown' and 'Shotgun (Saturday Night)' definately have a hint of Guns'n Roses about them. But GET animal's influences don't start and stop with 80's metal.

Oh No!

Take a listen to the up-tempo numbers like 'Might Makes Right' and 'Shake The Earth' and you'll hear just a hint of 70's glam. And isn't the opening riff on 'S.S.T.' just a little similar to Sweet's 'Action'. To be honest, theres a waft of the golden seventies which prevails throughout the 12 tracks on this album, but GET animal never succumb to sounding dated or old fashioned. The energy emanting from every song creates an infectious brand new catchy cocktail for 1999.

GET animal also score highly in the bare-faced cheek department as well, for their cover of 'Swingin' On A Star'. Now those of you who are old enough and who are prepared to admit it 'Swingin' On A Star' is probably best known in the UK at least for being the then tune to that classic (NOT!) early 70's childrens program Pinky and Perky!

But the thing is GET animal carry the song off with such style, even managin to put a fine blues style solo in before the end, and it's not until the album has progressed a few songs, does the penny drop and all those fun filled times as a little boy sat in front of the TV, come flooding back AHH!

No,seriously, GET animal remind us all that Rock'n'Roll that was never supposed to be that serious. It's all about letting loose and enjoying life and with the state of the world at present, this couldn't have come along at a more appropriate time.
