Fudge seem to have the simple set up of guitars, bass and drums along with the occasional extra instrument for variation.
Fudge play in a variety of styles including rock and ska/punk.
Fudge also play with a sense of humour that is evident in a lot of their songs. The vocals, so often the weak link in bands, are very strong, ranging from low dirty vocals to neat harmonies. Guitar solos are confined to the strange noodlings on 'Music For Money'. 'Father Figure' is a hard rock song with some nice quick vocals and a strange wind instrument.

'Black Cars' follows and is the best song on the album. The harshly whispered vocals sound superb over the slow, menacing guitar parts. The album then moves towards its poppier songs with 'Been There Done That' and 'Mouth'. Both are catchy songs with a mixture of shouted vocals and harmonies. The lyrics for both songs are trashy (meant in an inoffensive way) but songs like these were never supposed to have deep meaningful lyrics.

'Music For Money' alters the tone of the album again in a more aggressive way. It is slower and heavier with rasping vocals.

'Go Fish' perfectly demonstrates the humour aspect of the band with the second verse being the lyrics to a nursery rhyme. The album seemingly ends in a mass of feedback that developed from incredibly distorted vocals shouting over a menacing riff but unsurprisingly there is another pop song tagged onto the end.

"Hello my name is.." changes style so frequently that there is little or no continuity throughout the album. This is only a minor downside to a collection of well written, well played songs.
