As Blood Rains from the Sky… We Walk the Path of Endless fireFleshcrawl |

This German Death Metal terror has been leaving a path of death and destruction in their wake for almost ten years now. Their latest slab features twelve fully tenderized cuts of raw meat served up with a masochistic mallet and bloody intentions! Anyone who's ever heard Fleshcrawl whether from the days when "Bloodsoul" first cracked open the skull of this ever broadening genre, or more recently with "Bloodred Massacre" knows they're in for a lethal quantity of chaotic carnage the likes of which have no parallel. "March of the Dead" signals the beginning of the end-a darkened dirge that summons the legions of the living dead as they prepare for the bloody revolution that will soon create the "Path of Endless Fire" and cause the "blood to rain from the sky." The production here was handled by the band themselves, with the mixing (dare we call it that!) from Fredrik Nordstrom, significant in his past work with At the Gates, In Flames and The Crown. The production work is painfully clear with every soured note searing its full effect straight to the listener's quickly blackening mind! Song seven takes us back to 1984 and the Exciter classic "Swords of Darkness" from the ripping "Violence & Force" release, as Fleshcrawl effectively slashes and maims the original to the point of non-recognition! Song ten "Graves of the Tortured" stands out among the others as the dead seemingly rise right up from the ground and go straight for the throat… steeped with a solid groove and limitless aggression! The twelfth and final massacre is provided by a cover of Carnage's "The Day Man Lost," and if you blink, it's over! With whiplash rhythm structures in the finest Corpse-like tradition, and steeped in a solid heaviness that goes well with early Frost, Deicide or current labelmates Vader, Fleshcrawl's latest is a horrific example of where the world's headed… right to Hell in a handbasket! At the first signs of the crimson sky, the weakened wound gives way and it's only a matter of seconds before the end… beware of the dawning of a new dead! Released by Metal Blade Records
