LEARN TO SUFFER
FINN

Finn are :
vocals - Sean Holman
bass - Jeannine Dawson
drums - Lloyd Caldwell
guitar - Kyle Ness

Finn play heavy rock/metal music with a simple bass, drums, guitar and vocals set up. There are plenty of guitar solo's, which are backed with an extra rhythm guitar track. Finn occasionally use timings other than the usual 4/4 and sound like a combination of Helmet and Alice In Chains. A perfect example of this combination is the second track "Dearly". It contains a meaty Helmet riff and the verse vocals are very similar to Layne Staley's from Alice In Chains. The Layne Staley style vocals appear in many of the tracks 'Walls' and 'Bleed' are the best examples.

The final song of the album 'You Can't Win' features faster and slower parts alternating between verse's and chorus'. Finn also cover other styles. "Walls" has a swing feel and 'Bleed' uses arpeggios. The speed of each song varies, "Heartsmash" is quicker whilst "Start Again" is slower with an excellent riff. The small periods of silence add extra dynamics to the song.

Finn use samples to introduce a number of the songs 'MLK/Heaven', 'Dearly', 'Start Again'. The samples complement the music quite well.

Finn are not making ground breaking music but they are probably not trying to. Finn sound best when they combine good heavy riffs with the droning melodic vocals and they do this a lot.
