Blues based metal has been around since the dawn of time, Ok, then, the late 60's at least and has always had a reputation for being very accessible and laid back and dead easy to get into.

In a day and age when every new band tries to sound like a cross between Slayer and Pantera, it makes a refreshing change to listen to a band who are not afraid to go back to their roots and because of the quality of the songs and the high standard of musicianship the end result is as refreshing and as relevant as anything else in the market place.

Slip 'The Fine Art Of Dining Alone' into your player and your instantly confronted with the rock steady rhythm and laid back sound of 'Send Me An Angel', a song that instantly puts me in mind of Bad Company in their heyday, and Fallout manage to maintain this wonderful laid back feel throughout the whole of 'The Fine Art Of Dining Alone', adding the occassional slide guitar and harmonica to give it at times a very Southern feel.

By the time the very beautiful 'Can't Get The Blues' with it's mix of acoustic and slide guitars giving it a somewhat country feel fades into the distance its' very clear to anyone who cares to listen that if record companies actually promoted bands like Fallout instead of just simply releasing CD's then Fallout could well be dining with some pretty big bands instead of just simply dining alone.

The Fine Art Of Dining Alone contains 10 quality rock songs and apart from the one already mentioned theres the semi-acoustic ballad 'Breathe' delivered with real feeling and emotion and the real kick ass rocker 'Wicked Sindy' and the closing number 'Rock and Roll Nights' that has one of those infectious chorus lines you'll be humming for weeks on end.

If your like me and get a trifle bored with bands who simply want to go faster and faster and long for a vocalist who can sing rather than scream into the mike and four musicians who play at a pace thats dead easy to get into then look no further then Fallout and 'The Fine Art Of Dining Alone'.
