Suburban Blight

F-Minus

Two men, two women, and a whole lotta noise!

This is F-Minus and they don't seem to be in a talkative mood.

But from what I can make out, I like what they're saying-take opening cut "Suburban Blight" for instance and it reads:

"They take the money, you take the lies… Developing new ways to sell us the same old shit."

Good point.

Reading down the list of songs, there are twenty of 'em altogether but fuck, don't blink or you'll miss 'em, there's not one listed here that doesn't have something to do with lashing out at authority.

So immediately dismiss your cutesy little Pop/Punk ballads and weekend warrior respite, this is about a decade's worth of pent up hostility released from a twin stack and plenty of good ol' fire and fury from the sandy beaches of Huntington… well maybe not but can't argue the first point-Hell, if the screamin' don't tear ya right down, the rising decibel level will.

"Suburban Blight" follows their previously self-titled debut previously produced by Rancid man Tim Armstrong and this time, they go it alone… till the music starts that is.

Most of the time the toxic vocal emissions are shared by all within a song, or amongst several, understandable considering the amount of stress that goes into 'em, though sometimes there's the odd solo venture or two and it matters little since all will leave you in an equitably distributed condition of pain and eventual hearing loss.

These guys have been touring their butts off and shared the stage with the likes of H20, AFI and the Unseen and by about three songs in, that's about four and a half minutes but who's counting, it's clear they blow away any of those guys clear out their stacks… this one smokes right from the word go, dissident Hard-Core set to mach-1 extremes… so much for feeling safe in your nice, cozy little suburban digs, after a few minutes of this and you'll be lucky to have a home to return to!
