EXCOMMUNION hail from Colorado and may just become one of the sensations of 2002 for a number of reasons.

Their brutal and blasphemous death metal in the vein of IMMOLATION, INCANTATION and MORBID ANGEL promises much more than another heavy slab of noise.

"Superion" features 6 extended tracks ("Rendering The Demon Gate," "Serpent Of Deep," "Until Oblivion," "The Rites Of The Excommunion," "Suffering Unto The Damned" and "Superion"), which clocks in just under 40 minutes. Get ready for the ultimate blasphemy.

'Rendering The Demon Gate' is one heavy motherfucker! Some huge riffs and wicked blastbeats which threaten to blow the listeners brains clear out of their heads. It's all in this track; we have speed, power and pure evil violence.

'Serpent Of Deep' begins by battering its way from the speakers and engulfing you with a sheer wall of noise, which has taints of Morbid Angel thrown in for good measure.

'Until Oblivion', 'The Rites Of The Excommunion', 'Suffering unto The Damned' and 'Superion' all follow in much the same mould, a fantastic blend of wicked riffs, pounding double bass drums, precise time changes - Morbid Angel have a lot to answer for!!

"I was Born to murder the world" is the sign that 'Suffering Unto The Damned' and in my opinion the best track on the album has kicked in. Twisting one way then another before running up behind you and smacking you as hard as possible in the face with its full on assault on your already battered and bruised eardrums!

With each track weighing in at over 5 minutes in length, with the exception of 'The Rites Of…' it is possibly one of the better death metal albums you'll come across. An absolute fantastic piece of work.
