Epoch of the Unlight kinda remind me of the days of 'Sadus'…remember them?

Drums being played at a million miles per hour, guitar work that would cause severe bleeding of the fingers and vocals so guttural that it would seem the vocalist had indulged in several pints of bleach before recording.

Epoch…has delivered to us an album that blazes away and at times completely blows your head off. Some of the instrument playing leaves a lot to be desired, but hey no-ones perfect are they? There are times when the guitar work goes to pot, but it doesn't happen often enough to slag them off.

'Caught in the Unlight' is a lyrically sound album (even though it sounds like someone had reached for the thesaurus at times). The usual lyrical line of whore's blood and chaotic disorder is given a more cerebral edge, which enhances what could have been run of the mill song writing.

There's also a damn fine production job, bringing all the instruments into play with the sounds emerging from the stereo, grabbing you by the hair and thrashing you around the room. Hard'n'fast and not forgetting those oh so guttural vocals. Well worthy of a space on your CD rack.
